Emotional Resilience involves the ability to withstand and rapidly bounce back from stress. When we take a hard hit in life, we do the best we can to cope with what is happening. Unfortunately sometimes the ways in which we cope are not healthy and can ultimately lead to even more stress. For example, women often turn to shopping, over eating, alcohol, other substance abuse and a general lack of focus on good self care.
Fortunately there are some simple and effective habits that can be learned and strengthened in order to improve our ability to bounce back. When life delivers a huge hit, we can feel totally out of control. Knowing that we have some simple skills to fall back on and use, we can regain a much needed sense of control.
Mia and Susan are both licensed therapists in California and both are also Certified Life Coaches. We are both women of a certain age and both of us have had our share of very difficult times. We know what it takes to bounce back and we want to share these skills with you.
